We invite members of the Apalachicola, Florida, community to participate in an upcoming “Community Conversation on Heritage At Risk” workshop, part of an ongoing research project about the ways in which local communities value cultural heritage resources. Workshops are co-hosted by the University of West Florida, the Florida Public Archaeology Network, and the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve.
This workshop will last approximately one hour; it is intended to engage community members and to gather input so that local land managers can better protect and preserve cultural heritage resources that matter most. Participants will be audio recorded so that researchers can use anonymized input in the project’s final report.
Participants must be 18 years of age or older (those younger are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and cannot participate as a speaker).
